With the announcement of the rates payable under the Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) from April 2010 and the consultation on the Renewable Heat Incentive due from April 2011, interest in Renewable Energy is at an all time high.

This training course, which has been accredited by the Energy Institute, provides a great opportunity to learn more about building integrated renewable energy technologies and the impact the FIT and RHI will have on the economics of renewable energy.

::  About the Training Course     ::  Who should attend

This one day non-technical training course provides an introduction to a building's integrated renewable energy technologies and includes examples of how the FIT and RHI will affect payback.

Topics covered will include:-

  • Solar Water Heating
  • Wood Fuel Heating
  • Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Solar Photovoltaics
  • Small to Medium Scale Wind
  • Energy Policy and Planning
  • Economics

The course includes an interactive session in which delegates will discuss the most appropriate renewable energy technology for a number of different scenarios.

Every effort is made to ensure that any questions that delegates may have about renewable energy are answered - if we can not answer them on the day, we will send out our answers after the event.

This course is aimed at procurers, advisors, local authority staff, energy managers, those looking to change career into the renewable energy sector, potential investors and installers and householders who want an introduction to the main building integrated renewable energy technologies.

No previous knowledge or experience of renewable energy is assumed.

The course is limited to a maximum of sixteen delegates to allow for effective workshop sessions and to allow plenty of opportunity for delegates to ask questions.  The day will start with registration at 9.30am and end at 16.30pm.

::  What you will Learn     ::  Dates & Registration

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of how each renewable energy technologly works
  • Distinguish between the main types of renewable energy technology and what each can do
  • Identify which might be the most appropriate technology for any given scenario
  • Calculate the likely income stream from the FIT and potential income stream from the RHI
  • Make a simple payback calculation for each technology
